Episode #50: The Past is All We Ever Have with Kenneth Lacovara

Kenneth Lacovara

Paleontologist, Explorer, Speaker and Author

Kenneth Lacovara grew up about an hour away from where he now works, but don't let that fool you, this paleontologist has traveled the globe! Ken is a paleontologist at Rowan University as well as the founder its School of Earth & Environment and the Edelman Fossil Park & Museum. Ken is also a fellow and medalist of the Explorers Club, a TED speaker, and the author of the book, Why Dinosaurs Matter

He is well known for his discovery of Dreadnoughtus schrani, a massive plant-eating sauropod dinosaur from the Cretaceous of Patagonia in South America. The thigh bone from this giant is 6.5 ft long and the entire dinosaur is estimated to have weighted 65 tons! Does that make Dreadnoughtus the largest land animal of all time? Tune into this episode to find out!
